Unni R_The man giving words to our Heros

"ഇവന്റെ വാപ്പയ .. ദുബായിൽ ആയിരുന്നു .. ഒന്ന് കാണാൻ വന്നതാ ...."

We malayalis are not going to easily forget this dialogue from the block buster movie 'BIG B' and

we all cheered when our mega star Mammootty said these words in his iconic voice. This movie is

the directional venture of a new film maker...Amal Neerad.

but that time everyone forgot one name "UNNI R" who is the script writer of this movie. He wrote 

the dialogues in a different tone,before that hero used to say long dialogues lasting several minutes.

Unni Knows that these type of dialogues are not going to attract the audience anymore.At that time

nobody noticed his name, eveyone was busy praising the cinematogarphy style of the direcor Amal

Neerad (yes..i know..he is really talented).Later Unni wrote two more scripts for the same director.

Unni R. (born Jayachandran Parameswaran Nair on 12 April 1971) is an Indian short story writer and screen writer best known for his work in Malayalam literature and Malayalam cinema.

Unni R. won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Screenplay for the film Charlie (2015), and also won the prestigious Kerala Sahithya Academy Geetha Hiranyan endowment for his Short Story collection Ozhivudivasathe Kali, which has been made into the film of the same name. It was directed by Sanal Kumar Sasidharan. It won the 46th Kerala State Award for Best Film. His notable short stories are Leela, Kalinadakam, and Bahujeevitham.

Most of us are not familiar with this name.. Are we? But the music lovers all over the world know who he really is!!

Then now you start thinking like “I know this guy, but not remembering from where”

So let’s start knowing him completely.  

Before that you should know about Avial

Avial is an Indian alternative rock band formed in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India in 2003, and known for

their Malayalam lyrics. The band initially included lead vocalist Anandraj Benjamin Paul, turn tablist and 

backing vocalist Tony John, guitarist Rex Vijayan, bassist Naresh Kamath and drummer Mithun Puthanveetil [wiki].

Yes..you read it right..thats our guy, Mithun Puthanveetil.

Mithun is with avial from the beginning in 2003 and he is really a badass drummer.

And now you may be thinking “OK..he is good drummer..is that it?”

Yes..that is it.

That’s what I told from the beginning..They are not the ‘The famous people’ they are ‘quite fame’.

Who Knows tomorrow is not theirs !!!
